PLATON

is being given from Platon, who lived from 428 till 348 before Christ. The dialogues, which he's being referred  to for Atlantis, are Timeos and particularly Kritias. The history of  the lost continent is being narrated by Kritia, as    exactly he had heard it from Solon's relatives, when the last one had  visited Egypt. According to the priests of Egypt who narrated the history to Solona, once upon a time the ancestors of Athenians had won a wild and strong nationwhich was coming from Hercule's columns, an island bigger than North Africa and Small Asia both, namely from a continent that

contained the biggest places from that world. Timeos and Kritias of Platona contain the time  of Atlantis. The history comes from Solona the lawgiver an ancient Greece, who traveled to Egypt at 560 before Christ. The priesthood of Saidas, trusted to Solona that their records were from many years ago. Those records were talking from a continent which was found longer from Hercule's columns, and was sank at  9560 before Christ. Platonas doesn't confuse Atlantis with America, because he says that there was no continent at the west side of Atlantis. He talks about an ocean after Grivaltar strait In the dialogue, Platonas gave so much precise descriptions for the buildings, the communications, the habits, human beings, the history, the printing and the distances that dialogues look like playing the role of ancient - travel guide of Atlantis. During the time period that passed till today, some specific measurings that gave are being checked in comparison with various possible places of Atlantis, like Crete, Thira and other places of which no one is being found in Atlantic Ocean where Platon said that they might be. Some of his interesting extracts indicate that somebody had seen a strong and very

developed civilization of ancient times. After the description of establishment of Atlantis from Poseidon, the god of sea, reports with details the wealth and magnificence of an empire which was famous because her borders were till Egypt. They obtained so

much wealth, that no king or monarch ever obtained and neither to future one may obtain. They had supplied with all those things they may need for the town and

also for all the country. And because their empire was very big, many things were brought from abroad and also the same island supplied them with everything they may need for their preservation. They took from the earth everything they could find mineral or metal. And this metal that today is a plain name but then was something more than a name - bronze - was taken out  from the earth in many places of the island and except gold it was the most precious metal for the

people of that era. Platonas makes a strange report to elephants, which is possible related to the legends and representations of elephants in america... there was a big croud of elephants in the island , because there was food and for the

other animals who were living at the marches, the lakes and the rivers, and also for the others that lived to the mountains and plains and as a conclusion for

that animal which was the bigger and the most greedy from the others. The description he makes about the climate of Atlantis and the variety of the food there were, give us the image of an earthy paradise where life was easy " As many as good - smelling plants earth produces: roots,

grass, wood, extracts of flowers or fruits were cultivated in that ground ... the cultivated products of the earth, so much dry eatable fruits as and other similars, that can be used for toys and can be damaged if they are kept ... and the pleasant desserts that comfort after the dinner when someone has satisfied his hunger or he's been tired to eating, that holy island which is found now

under the sea, produced nice and magnificent products in big quantities. The description of constructive transactions and huge palaces,

reminds of Cyclopeans constructions in other places of the world ...They bridged the filled sea with ditches that were around the old Metropolis, and by this way they made a passing from and for the royal places. Then they started building

the palace at the place where once upon a time there was god's residence... starting from the sea, they opened a canal three hundred feet width and one hundred feet depth and fifty stages length till the external ditch, and made a passing from the sea till the ditch that was made a port and left an opening that allows ships to get in. Then they shared the zones of earth that separated

the ditches from the sea, and they constructed bridges with that width which was needed to allow the ships to pass from one ditch to the other, and they covered them from the top side so that  the passage was made at the low part, because the inner walls of the earth zones were high enough from the surface of

the sea... The island, at which the royal places were built , had five stages as a diameter. This island, the ditches and the bridge that had an acre width, were surrounded from a stone wall and there were placed towers from both sides and a

bridge down which sea was passing.... By being referred to the colour of the stone of Atlantis, Platon, without knowing, gave the color of the stone that dominates to as sea of

Atlantic ocean that is still found, the archipelago of Canarians. Platon said: "The stones they used for their work  they took them out of the quarries that were found at the center of the island, and also under and inside the ditches. Some stones were white , other were black and other were red. As they were taking  the stones out of the quarries, at the same time they were arranging the cavities by constructing, in this way, two naval stations covered with the same rock. Some of the buildings were simple but in some of them, the stones of various colors were being mixed in order to decorate and express their physical satisfaction... The whole front view of the wall, which enclosed the external zone, was covered with copper and the whole front of the internal wall was covered with tin, and the wall which was around the same Acropolis was covered with bronze and it was shining like red fire... In the center there was the venerable sanctuary of Klito and Poseidon, where the entrance was forbidden and it was surrounded with a golden wall... All the external side of the temple was covered with silver, except from its capes that were dressed with gold. Inside the temple, the ceiling was from ivory and was

decorated with gold and bronze. All the other sides of the wall, the columns and the floor were covered with bronze. Golden statues were placed in the temple: the god was standing upright on a chariot driving the six feathering horses and the height was so big that its head was touching the ceiling. Around it there were one hundred Niriedes on equal in number dolphins because they thought that so many they should be... And around the temple, in the external side, golden

statues of  the ten kings and their wives were put up... When Platon was referred to the sources with hot and cold water

for warm spa, he defined exactly the phenomenon of an island of Atlantic . Then, they were using sources with hot and cold water, plenty and exceptional for its wonderful properties. They built buildings around them and they planted various trees, and made docks, some of them were opened and the other were covered with ceiling which they were using for warm spa, during winter. There were spa for the kings and other for private citizens, for women, for horses and the other

animals and they used to decorate each one with the proper ornamentations. .. The running water that was abundant, was transferred  to the grove of

Poseidon where there were many kinds of trees that had a great height and beauty because of the fertility of the ground. At the description of the commercial port, Platon was accused of using Tiro or other Phoenician or Cretan towns as a model, because it wasn't possible to be an oversea trade to so much turned aside past. So, it seems that there is a clear and more ancient that we can imagine, relationship, between discreet Phoenicians and the West Ocean. The naval -stations were full of ships and the proper accessories and the storehouses were ready for use... "When

someone was getting out of the three ports, there was a wall around that started from the sea and was lied far from everywhere fifty stages from the biggest ditch and from the port, and was closed at the same point that the opening of

the canal to the sea, was starting! All this area was very condensely habitable, but the canal and the bigger port were full of ships and merchants who have come

from all the places of the world and because they were too many, they caused big noise and troubles with their voices during day and night... The plain, which was cultivated for a big time period from many generations of kings, had, squear shape and at the biggest part was straight , long and narrow and...it followed the opening of a district ditch. The depth, the width and the length of this ditch were incredible and gave the impression that such a work and also all those technical operations, couldn't be something hand-made. But i must say what i've heard. It had depth an acre and width a stage everywhere. Its length, which was digged around the plain, was ten thousand stages. The ditch was accepted the water which was coming from the mountains, it surrounded the plain in a circle and reached many points near the town and then it was leaving the water to be poured in the sea. From the top

side of the ditch, to the plain, many canals were digged to straight lines, with width one hundred feet that almost reached the ditch near the sea that the water was poured. Every canal was lied far from the other almost one hundred stages, and from there the lumber was transferred from the mountain to the town, where small connecting canals were opened from one canal to the other. Twice a year they gathered the fruits of the ground, because they used the water of the rain

during winter and the water of canals during summer.
