Mimic is a 1997 science fiction horror film, directed by Guillermo del Toro, with a script inspired by a short story of the same name by Donald A. Wollheim. The movie was followed by two direct-to-video sequels: Mimic 2 (2001) and Mimic 3: Sentinel (2003).
Plot
In Manhattan, cockroaches are spreading a deadly disease that is claiming hundreds of the city's children, so entomologist Susan Tyler (Mira Sorvino) uses genetic engineering techniques to create what she and her colleague (and husband) Peter Mann (Jeremy Northam) call the Judas Breed, a large insect that will feed on the roaches carrying diseases. Since the Judas bugs have been designed so that they can't breed, the mutated species should die out in a matter of months. However, Susan, Peter, and their staff severely underestimated the creature's ability to adapt to its conditions. The Judas Breed has indeed found a way to reproduce itself, and can mimic the appearance and behavior of other creatures with uncanny accuracy -- including humans. Susan and Peter have learned that huge swarms of the Judas Breed are living beneath the city in the subway system, and with the help of Leonard (Charles S. Dutton), a transit system employee who knows the labyrinth of subway tunnels like the back of his hand, they search out the humanoid insects before they can take over the city.

Mimic 2 is a 2001 science fiction horror film, directed by Jean de Segonzac, with a script inspired by a short story of the same name by Donald A. Wollheim. The movie was a direct to DVD sequel to Mimic (1997), and was followed by Mimic 3: Sentinel (2003).
Plot
After three men are discovered hideously mutilated - their faces have been removed - and strung up among New York City's high-tension wires, Detective Klaski (Bruno Campos) stumbles upon a link: Each of the men knew entomologist Remy (Alix Koromzay), a teacher at an inner-city high school. Klaski considers Remy a prime, albeit unlikely, suspect in the killings until he witnesses for himself the shape-shifting creature that has been stalking Remy: an intelligent six-foot-tall cockroach with the face of its previous victim. It wants to mate with Remy. Remy, Klaski, and a pair of her students are trapped inside the school as the creature hunts them down. Meanwhile, a military unit of bug busters gets ready to fumigate the school with poisonous gas.
Mimic 3: Sentinel
Mimic 3: Sentinel is a 2003 science fiction horror film, directed by T.J. Petty, with a script inspired by a short story of the same name by Donald A. Wollheim. The movie was a direct to DVD sequel to Mimic (1997) and Mimic 2 (2001).
Plot
Mimic 3: Sentinel takes a departure from the tone of the first two films. It has a feel not unlike Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window rather than the action/horror tone of its predecessors.
Unable to leave the germ-free confines of his sterilized bedroom for any real stretch of time, environmentally hypersensitive Judas child Marvin (Karl Geary) spends his days taking pictures of his neighbors from his window. Occasionally catching glimpses of his young sister Rosy (Alexis Dziena) being romanced by the neighborhood drug dealer, Marvin's lens remains mostly fixed on a mysterious neighbor known as "The Garbageman" (Lance Henriksen) and pretty neighbor Carmen (Rebecca Mader), while his slightly overbearing mother (Amanda Plummer) rests on the couch. As neighbors begin disappearing and mysterious figures move in and out of Marvin's viewfinder, the secluded voyeur begins to suspect that a sinister force is at work in his neighborhood. Though Rosy and Carmen are anxious to assist in a little detective work, the situation soon begins to spiral out of control upon the discovery that the Judas breed is far from extinct.

να πω την αληθεια δεν ειδα κανενα... να και ακουσα οτι μονο η πρωτη ηταν καλη... τα siquels βγηκαν καπως αποτυχημενα (αυτο φαινεται και απο τα budget...καθως της πρωτης εφθασε τα 25.000.000 $, ενω τα αλλα 2 ουτε 10.000.000 $ εκαστο)
Στην κριτική της ταινίας δεν είχα διαβάσει καλά σχόλια.
Για τις άλλες δύο ταινίες δεν έχω ακούσει σχόλια.
Γιατί μου έχει "καρφωθεί" όμως στο μυαλό ότι το πρώτο μέρος το έχω δει αρκετά παλιά;

Ειναι αρκετα καλη ειπαμε...
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι έχω χαθεί από τους κινηματογράφους τον τελευταίο καιρό και σκέφτομαι να πάω να δω κάποια ταινία.
Έχω στα υπόψιν να δω αυτήν - μια τέτοια ταινία στον κινηματογράφο έχει άλλη "χάρη" (

Πηγα το σαββατο με 3 φιλους και ειδαμε την ταινια στον κινηματογραφο, σε αιθουσα με "δυνατο" ηχο! Μιλαμε τελεια... αφου τρομαζαν συνεχεια!
Σου την συστινω ανεπυφυλακτα... και μιας και σου αρεσουν αυτα τα ειδη ταινιων... θα ξετρελαθεις
όταν τελείωσε, όλοι φώναζαν "τα λεφτά μας πίσω". εγώ πάλι είχα ένα χαμόγελο απ'το ένα αυτί ως το άλλο...
θα σου αρέσει πολύ D_I. δεν είσαι ο μέσος κάγκουρας ποπ-κορν-θεατής...

Κοίτα, το κακό με τέτοιες ταινίες είναι ότι από τη μια μπορεί να ακούς τα επιφωνήματα τρόμου των υπολοίπων θεατών - κάτι που βοηθάει την ατμόσφαιρα - κι από την άλλη μπορεί να ακούς τα χαζοχαρούμενα γέλια και σχόλια κάποιων άλλων που νομίζουν ότι θα δουν κωμωδία κι όχι ταινία τρόμου.
Αλλά εντάξει, οι ανθρώπινες αντιδράσεις είναι απρόβλεπτες...
Το καλύτερο είναι να πας καθημερινή στην τελευταία προβολή.
Έχει και λιγότερο κόσμο κι είναι και καλύτερα λόγω ώρας...

ετσι καναμε εμεις... πηγαμε στην τελευταια προβολη, που λογω και τις καταρακτωδης βροχης, ειμασταν 20 ατομα στην αιθουσα (που χωρουσε 500 ατομα τουλαχιστο)...
Ηταν ομως τα εφε της αιθουσας τοσο δυνατα, που ουτε τα επιφωνηματα των αλλων δεν μπορουσες να ακουσεις!
