Προς το Κοινό

Αναγνώστη! Εραστή των βιβλίων! Εραστή τΆ ουρανού
κι εκείνου του Θεού απΆ τον οποίον όλα έχουν έχουν δοθεί,
Που μες στου μυστηριώδους Σινά το φοβερό σπήλαιο
Στον ¶νθρωπο έδωσε τη θαυμαστή τέχνη της γραφής·

ΓιΆ αυτό τυπώνω βιβλία· και δεν θα ΅ναι μάταιες
Οι τυπωμένες λέξεις μου: στο εξής
Ουρανός, Γη, και Κόλαση θα ζουν στην αρμονία.

δεν μπορούμε από μόνοι μας να κάνουμε τίποτα·
όλα τα πράγματα διευθύνονται από Πνεύματα,

Κάθε λέξη και κάθε γράμμα έχει μελετηθεί και έχει μπει
στην αρμόζουσα θέση του·
τα τρομακτικά μέτρα φυλάγονται για τα τρομακτικά μέρη,
τα ήπια κι ευγενικά για τα ήπια κι ευγενικά μέρη,
και τα μονότονα για τα δευτερεύοντα μέρη·
όλα είναι απαραίτητα το ένα στο άλλο.
Τα Έθνη Αφανίζονται ή Ανθούν ανάλογα με τον Αφανισμό
ή την ¶νθιση της Ποίησης, της Ζωγραφικής, και της Μουσικής τους.
Η Αρχέγονη Κατάσταση του Ανθρώπου
ήταν η Σοφία, η Τέχνη και η Επιστήμη.
