UFOs and mainstream religions

An example of this overlap is the miracle at Fátima which occurred in Portugal in 1917. This involved over 70,000 witnesses observing strange aerial phenomena, which might well be considered as UFOs today.

A few Protestant fundamentalists regard UFOs as inherently demonic and part of a Satanic plan to undermine Christianity, which may involve the supernatural Nephilim as pilots of the UFOs. Some Muslims have identified UFOs as jinns.[citation needed]

Similar views are held by some [Christian Orthodox] priests and believers, with direct references to affirmations made by saints of the Orthodox Church. The UFO phenomenon is connected to the arrival of the Antichrist and the wonders he would make to fool the world into believing him, including great fire coming down from the sky. The sky is seen as the place where demons live (see the similarity with Beelzebub - "the lord of the flies", sometimes interpreted as "the lord of the fliers" - i.e. of those who fly). Many similarities can be drawn between UFOs and demonic manifestations: both involve revealing half truths, double truths or deceit, both tend to have a volatile character, as they seem to appear unexpectedly and have an indefinite or illusory character, inducing a sense of wondering and awe, and, more subtly, exposure to or knowledge of both, as incomplete as it is, can induce some abnormal or even pathologic states to those exposed - anxiety, fear, obsession with the phenomenon, and even paranoid schizophrenia, demonomania and suicide, according to John Keel's book "UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse", cited in the links above. Not last, it may be observed that the procedures involved in alien abductions, by causing stress and sufference and leaving scars, both physical and emotional, would fit a demonic purpose, in accordance with the Christian teachings demons. It is suggested that interest in this phenomenon, if it is demonic in nature, may be dangerous. John Keel likened a superficial treatment of the UFO phenomenon to playing with black magic. There is also the similarity of UFO apparitions to mythological beings, like faeries, which have been sometimes regarded by Christians as demonic in nature.

Notable UFO religions

Aetherius Society

The Aetherius Society was founded in the United Kingdom in the 1950s. Its founder, George King, claimed to have been contacted telepathically by an alien intelligence called Aetherius, who represented an "Interplanetary Parliament." According to Aetherians, their Society acts as a vehicle through which "Cosmic Transmissions" can be disseminated to the rest of humanity.

Heaven's Gate

The Heaven's Gate group achieved notoriety in 1997 when one of its founders convinced 38 followers to commit mass suicide. Members reportedly believed themselves to be aliens, awaiting a spaceship that would arrive with Comet Hale-Bopp. The suicide was undertaken in the apparent belief that their souls would be transported onto the spaceship, which they thought was hiding behind the comet. They underwent elaborate preparations for their trip, including purchasing and then actually wearing matching shoes. For a time, group members lived in a darkened house where they would simulate the experience they expected to have during their long journey in outer space. Heaven's Gate surfaced again in 2006 with another group of converts entitled "Heaven's Gate: The New Generation".

Nation of Islam

The Nation of Islam subscribes to the belief that UFOs are responsible for "raising mountains" and will destroy the world on the Day of Judgment. Its former leader, Elijah Muhammed, claimed that the Biblical Book of Ezekiel describes a "Motherplane" or "Wheel". The movement's current leader, Louis Farrakhan, describes the "Motherplane" thus:

“ The Honorable Elijah Muhammad told us of a giant Motherplane that is made like the universe, spheres within spheres. White people call them unidentified flying objects (UFOs). Ezekiel, in the Old Testament, saw a wheel that looked like a cloud by day but a pillar of fire by night. The Hon. Elijah Muhammad said that that wheel was built on the island of Nippon, which is now called Japan, by some of the original scientists. It took 15 billion dollars in gold at that time to build it. It is made of the toughest steel. America does not yet know the composition of the steel used to make an instrument like it. It is a circular plane, and the Bible says that it never makes turns. Because of its circular nature it can stop and travel in all directions at speeds of thousands of miles per hour. He said there are 1,500 small wheels in this mother wheel which is a half mile by a half mile (800 by 800 m). This Mother Wheel is like a small human built planet. Each one of these small planes carry three bombs ".

Raëlism

The International Raëlian Movement has been described as "the largest UFO religion in the world." Raëlians believe that scientifically advanced extraterrestrials known as the Elohim created life on Earth through genetic engineering, and that a combination of human cloning and "mind transfer" can ultimately provide eternal life. Past religious teachers, like Jesus, Buddha and Muhammad are said to have been sent by these scientifically advanced extraterrestrials to teach humanity. The Elohim are said to be planning a future visit to complete their revelation and education of humanity.

Scientology

Stories of extraterrestrial civilizations and alien interventions in past lives form a significant part of the belief system of Scientology. The most famous such story is that of Xenu, the ruler of the Galactic Confederacy who is said to have brought billions of frozen aliens to Earth 75 million years ago, stacked them around volcanoes and blown them up with hydrogen bombs. From the early 1950s onwards, Scientology's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, published a number of books, lectures and other works describing what he termed "space opera".

Scientology teaches that all humans have experienced multiple past lives as members of advanced alien societies such as Helatrobus and the Marcabians. Traumatic memories from these past lives are said to be the cause of many present-day physical and mental ailments. Scientologists also believe that they possess superhuman powers which cannot be accessed until their past-life traumas and so-called "Body Thetans" have been fully purged through the practice of "auditing", using methods set out by Hubbard in his various works.

According to Hubbard, when we die we go to a "landing station" on the planet Venus, where we are re-implanted and told lies about our past life and our next life. The Venusians take our thetan (soul), "capsule" it, and send it back to Earth to be dumped into the ocean off the coast of California, whereupon we search for a new body to inhabit. To avoid these inconveniences, Hubbard advised Scientologists to simply refuse to go to Venus after their death

Unarius Academy of Science

Founded by Ernest L. Norman and his wife Ruth in 1954, the Unarians are a group headquartered in El Cajon, California who believe that through the use of fourth dimensional physics, they are able to communicate with advanced intelligent beings that exist on higher frequency planes. Like Scientologists, Unarians believe in past lives and that our solar system was once inhabited by ancient interplanetary civilizations. They probably have more similarity to the Aetherius Society or to Raëlism as they emphasize "space brothers" who will one day arrive in thirty-three spaceships to improve humanity.

Universe people

The Universe people or Cosmic people of light powers (Czech: Vesmírní lidé sil světla) is a Czech movement centered around Ivo A. Benda. Its belief system is based upon existence of extraterrestrial civilizations communicating with Benda and other "contacters" since October 1997 telepathically and later even by direct personal contact. According to Benda, those civilizations operate a fleet of spaceships led by Ashtar Sheran orbiting and closely watching the Earth, helping good and waiting to transport the followers into another dimension. The Universe People teaching incorporates various elements from ufology (some foreign "contacters" are credited, though often also renounced after a time as misguided or deceptive), Christianity (Jesus was a "fine-vibrations" being) and conspiracy theories (forces of evil are supposed to plan compulsory chipping of the populace).

Nordic aliens

Nordic aliens , also called Aryan aliens, is a name given to what are said to be a group of humanoid extraterrestrials. They are so named because they are said to resemble Nordic, Scandinavian, or Aryan racial images.

Nordic aliens form a notable part of UFO/abduction belief and the contactee movement in European nations, but are not commonly found in accounts from the US. Owing to the writings of Ufologist and self-professed contactee Billy Meier, they are sometimes known as Pleiadeans or Errans, and are said to be from the Pleiades star cluster in the constellation of Taurus, although they have been known by other names, and were originally said to come from Venus or other planets within the Solar system because of the sightings of George Adamski.

The wise, benevolent aliens that appear in the New Age teachings of such gurus as Benjamin Creme as the Space Brothers are usually depicted as Nordic aliens.

Nordic aliens are said to be humanoid in appearance, with pale white skin, colorless lips, and hair that is either light blond or white. [5] Some accounts describe them as having pale blue eyes , though it is more common for them to be described as having red, yellow, green, blue or pink eyes. Most accounts say that they are tall, most guess at 11 - 13 ft tall, statuesque, and attractive. It is more common for them to be reported as being male than female.

While Greys make up 75 percent of all reported alien encounters in the US they appear in fewer than 20 percent of European reports. As such, Europeans are several times more likely to report encountering a Nordic alien than a Grey. The nation with the highest proportion of reported encounters with Nordic aliens is the United Kingdom.

Speaking during their 1994 convention in Washington, CSICOP representatives noted that British contact reports typically spoke of Nordic aliens, and did not include Greys in any number until 1987, when Whitley Strieber's novel Communion became a best seller there.

George Adamski was one of the first contactees to report a description of UFO occupants. On 20 November 1952 he reportedly met and spoke with a being called Orthon, after seeing a UFO in Arizona. Adamski described him as looking human, with long, wavy, blond hair, and that "the beauty of his form surpassed anything I had ever seen". However, Orthon was not entirely human in appearance, having slightly slanted eyes. According to Adamski, Orthon said that he was from Venus.

Howard Menger also claimed to have met similar beings, although his statements are controversial, as he retracted his story - then recanted his retraction. Orfeo Angelucci, and Elizabeth Klarer also described similar beings in their contact stories.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Michael E. Salla suggested the possibility that in February of 1954, at Edwards Air Force Base, United States President Dwight D. Eisenhower had met with some Nordics in an attempt to formulate an agreement over technology exchange, and the elimination of the American nuclear arsenal.

British contactees included Cynthia Appleton in the late 1950s, who claimed that her son Matthew was fathered by a Venusian visitor, and Mollie Thompson a few years later, who also claimed a meeting with blond Venusians, and was sufficiently inspired by the experience to record several songs about it.

Εδώ είναι το λάθος και η παγίδα.
Ο θόρυβος προέρχεται:
α) από τον κινητήρα. Ένας ηλεκτρομαγνητικός κινητήρας δεν θα έκανε θόρυβο - τουλάχιστον όσο κάνουν τα αεροσκάφη με κινητήρες εσωτερικής καύσης. Μην ξεχνάμε φυσικά ότι υπήρξαν και σκάφη με ΑΤΜΟΚΙΝΗΤΗΡΕΣ - αυτά δεν κάνουν καθόλου θόρυβο από τους κινητήρες τους - μόνο από τις έλικες...
β) Στα ελικόφόρα μέρος του φορύβου προέρχεται από του έλικες... Όμως υπάρχουν ειδικές σχεδιάσεις που ρίχνουν τον θόρυβο στο 50%...
γ) Η γενικότερη αεροδυναμική σχεδίαση του σκάφους. Ένα δελταπέρυγο σκάφος έχει μικρότερο αεροδυναμικό θόρυβο από ένα συμβατικό - το υπερηχητικό μπαμ όμως είναι απόρεια της ΣΧΕΔΙΑΣΗΣ του σκάφους. Με λίγα λόγια μπορούμε να σχεδιάσουμε σκάφη που θα το μπαμ τους όταν μπαίνουν στην υπερηχητική περιοχή θα έιναι τόσο μικρό που δεν θα ακούγεται!!!!

Οι στρατιωτικοί αλλά και ολόκληρο το στρατικοβιομηχανικό τους σύμπλεγμα το οποίο ενεπλάκει μαζί τους μετά την απόκτηση επαφής, επί Αιζενχάουερ, νομίζανε πως μπορούνε να "ελιχθούνε" με το συγκεκριμένο είδος αλλά γρήγορα καταλάβανε πως είχανε πέσει σε μια μεγάλη παγίδα.

Η Γερμανική τεχνολογική πρωτοπορεία στον Β ΠΠ (όπως και η αμερικανική αργότερα) βασίζονταν στα "δώρα" των greys. H μεγάλη διαφορά των ναζί και των αμερικανών ήταν ότι οι μεν πρώτοι αποκτήσανε επαφή μέσα από το μυστικισμό, οι δε δεύτεροι μέσα από την τεχνολογία.
