Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is an upcoming film based on the 2003 video game of the same name. The film is directed by Mike Newell, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley, and Alfred Molina. Filming is taking place in the United Kingdom and Morocco. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is scheduled to be released on May 28, 2010.
Production
In March 2004, the production company Jerry Bruckheimer Films sought to acquire feature film rights to the 2003 video game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with the film to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Under John August as executive producer, the series' creator Jordan Mechner was hired to write the script. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer's Pirates of the Caribbean film trilogy served as a touchstone in how a theme park ride was converted into a film franchise. According to Mechner, "Rather than do a straight beat-for-beat adaptation of the new videogame, we're taking some cool elements from the game and using them to craft a new story." Mechner previously considered producing an animated film based on the games, but could not resist Disney and Bruckheimer's offer. In February 2006, Disney hired screenwriter Jeffrey Nachmanoff to write a new script for Prince of Persia.
Early in 2007, Disney announced Prince of Persia as one of its tentpole films and by June had scheduled a release date for July 10, 2009 before having a final script or any actors attached. By November 2007, Disney entered negotiations with Mike Newell to direct the film based on a script by Mechner and Nachmanoff, though the studio held off production until the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike was resolved. Newell was fond of Bruckheimer's films, and loved the "exciting [and] immensely romantic" script, which reminded him of Lost Horizon. His assistant played the video games and gave the director key details. Mechner, in writing the script, re-conceived the storyline to shift the perspective from the interactive one experienced by video gamers to the non-interactive experience by film audiences. The screenwriter left out elements of the Prince of Persia video games Warrior Within and The Two Thrones and did not anticipate including these elements in the film's possible sequels.
In March 2008, Newell selected Morocco as a shooting location for Prince of Persia and also planned to film in Pinewood Studios. Production was scheduled to begin in mid-June 2008. By May 2008, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton were cast into the lead roles. With a new script by Mechner, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard, and Boaz Yakin, filming began in July 2008 in Morocco as well as London. Eight weeks were spent in Morocco before the first unit moved to Pinewood.
When filming began, the film's release date was postponed to May 28, 2010 with the studio seeking enough time for the post-production process in designing the film's special effects. The profit margin on the Pirates of the Caribbean films was compromised by overspending expenditures as the special effects teams rushed to complete the films for their release dates. Variety also ascribed the postponement to avoiding the potential 2008 Screen Actors Guild strike so the studio could ensure that the film leads to a "mega-franchise" similar to its successful Pirates of the Caribbean series. Other reasons for the release date change were that the film was originally scheduled a week before Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Disney needed more time to co-ordinate its marketing campaign.
Cast
-Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan, a sixth-century Persian prince. The character is nameless in the games; Jordan Mechner said he chose the name because it is the Persian word for "trickster". Gyllenhaal estimated he gained five pounds of muscle for the role.
-Gemma Arterton as Tamina, a feisty and exotic princess. Arterton practiced horse riding in Madrid and did further training in London.
-Ben Kingsley as Nizam, King Shahrman's brother who plans to kill the ruler and blame the murder on Prince Dastan.
-Alfred Molina as Sheik Amar, a mentor to Prince Dastan.
-Toby Kebbell as Dastan's brother, head of the Persian army.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans is the third installment in the Underworld series. It is a prequel set prior to Underworld and Underworld: Evolution, covering the origins of some characters.
Expected in Theaters, 23rd January
Plot
The prequel will trace the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans (werewolves). In the Dark Ages, a young Lycan named Lucian (Sheen) emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has enslaved them. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, Viktor's daughter Sonja (Mitra), in his battle against the Death Dealer army and his struggle for Lycan freedom.
Production
In September 2003, shortly after the release of Underworld (2003), production companies Screen Gems and Lakeshore planned to release a prequel as the third film following Underworld's sequel, Underworld: Evolution (2006). Kate Beckinsale, who portrayed Selene in Underworld, expressed interest in reprising her role for the sequel and the prequel.
In December 2005, Underworld: Evolution director Len Wiseman explained that the Underworld franchise was originally conceived as a trilogy. Wiseman said, "We sort of mapped out an entire history and story... a massive collection of ideas and stories that we're putting out at certain times." Wiseman anticipated creating a third installment for the franchise based on the audiences' reception of Underworld: Evolution, which would be released the following month.
In a June 2006 interview, Wiseman said, "The third film is going to be a prequel. It will be the origin story and we find out things we didn't know about Lucian; he'll have a much bigger part in it. It will be about the creation [of the races] and what started the war. It will be a period piece. The movie will also focus for the first time through the Lycans' point of view." The director also shared, "In terms of the writing, a lot of the writing has been done. We've been developing Underworld 3 for a while. I won't be directing Underworld 3; I'm just going to be producing and writing." When asked if Kate Beckinsale would reprise her role as Selene in the prequel, Wiseman said, "It will be in the time period before, but it will overlap into the creation of her as well. We're in the process of seeing how far we go with that." The following October, actor Michael Sheen, who portrays Lucian in the film series, expressed interest in being part of the prequel.
The Hollywood Reporter announced on October 26, 2007 that the film will be written by Danny McBride and mark the directorial début of Patrick Tatopoulos, who designed the creature effects for all three Underworld films. Len Wiseman will produce the film but will not write or direct, nor will Kate Beckinsale reprise her lead role of Selene nor Scott Speedman will reprise his role of Micheal. The film is to be a prequel set in the Dark Ages and will focus on the origins of the feud between the vampires and their slaves, the Lycans. The film will be shot in Auckland, New Zealand and in Roxboro, North Carolina.
Cast
-Michael Sheen as Lucian (Enslaved as a baby, Lucian has only been able to imagine the full extent of his Lycan powers. In the evolution from werewolf to Lycan, Lucian feels the responsibility of the Lycan race resting on his shoulders. At the same time, his love for the vampire, Sonja, complicates his desire for freedom from the Vampires.)
-Rhona Mitra as Sonja (Sonja is the daughter of the powerful Vampire Elder, Viktor. Beautiful and brave, her nightly patrols defend the Coven from the hoards of ferocious werewolves. Despite her father's hatred for the Lycan race, she has fallen in love with the Lycan slave, Lucian. She battles between the desire to fulfill the responsibilities that come with her lineage and her willful nature. Because of her love for Lucian, she is sympathetic to the enslaved Lycans' plight.)
-Bill Nighy as Viktor (One of three ruling Vampire Elders, Viktor is a haughty, ostentatious Vampire overlord nearly 1,000 years old. Like most Vampires, he has a severe loathing for Lycans but also a fascination with their unique strengths. Through slavery and torture, he has created a small but mighty force of enslaved Lycans. Despite his best efforts to govern the Coven, the Council members have begun to question his leadership.)
-Steven Mackintosh as Andreas Tanis (Deceptive and conniving, Arnaud Tanis serves the Elders as advisor and historian of the Covens. His desire for power, wealth and status lead him to do nearly anything to stand in Viktor's good favor. Often tasked with managing the strong-willed Sonja, he discovers the secrets held in the dark corridors beneath the castle.)
-Kevin Grevioux as Raze (Lucian discovers Raze's amazing bravery and strength as he rescues him from near-certain death. A deep friendship grows between the two men. Raze sympathizes with the Lycan struggle for independence but doesn't yet know how far he is willing to go to support Lucian.)

Terminator Salvation is an upcoming American science fiction war film set for release on May 22, 2009. Directed by Joseph "McG" McGinty Nichol, it is the fourth Terminator film and stars Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as the Terminator Marcus Wright. It also introduces a young version of the first film's hero, Kyle Reese, played by Anton Yelchin. The film, set in 2018, focuses on the war between humanity and Skynet. It abandons the formula of previous entries in the series, which involved the Terminator and various other characters traveling through time to protect or kill John Connor. Filming began on May 5, 2008. (***να προσθεσω οτι θα ειναι τριλογια***)
Premise
On May 23, 2008, Warner Bros. released the following plot summary for the film. The synopsis was modified on June 11, 2008:
“ Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind. ”
Connor does not start as leader of the resistance but will work his way through the ranks in the film. He is also mistrusted by other soldiers due to his extensive knowledge of Skynet.[3] McG said that it will be about the development of the Model 101 Terminator as well:[4] scenes involve humans being captured and studied by Skynet in order to perfect their cybernetic organisms and Connor explaining "If we let these things go online, the war is over." He explained the film will "begin again very much in the spirit of what Nolan did with Batman," in that it will not require audiences to have seen the previous films, and that it is "a bit of a sequel and a prequel because it tells the story of how we got there".
Production
Following the release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines in 2003, producers Andrew G. Vajna and Mario Kassar contracted Nick Stahl and Claire Danes to return as John Connor and Kate Brewster in another film. Director Jonathan Mostow supervised the script by John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris, and was set to begin production in 2005 after completing another film. It was known by then Arnold Schwarzenegger's role would be limited having assumed office as Governor of California. The producers sought to have Warner Bros. finance the picture as they did for Terminator 3. In 2005, Stahl said Connor and Brewster would be recast as the story jumped forward in time. David C. Wilson was enlisted to rewrite the script. By 2006, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, distributor of the original film The Terminator, was set to distribute the fourth film as part of the new CEO Harry Sloan's scheme to make the studio a viable Hollywood player again.
On May 9, 2007, it was announced that production rights to the Terminator series had passed from the feuding Vajna and Kassar to the Halcyon Company. The producers hoped to start a new trilogy based on the franchise. By July 19, the project was in legal limbo due to a lawsuit between MGM and Halcyon subsidiary T Asset. MGM had an exclusive window of 30 days to negotiate for distribution of the Terminator films. When negotiating for Terminator 4, Halcyon rejected their initial proposal, and MGM suspended negotiations. After the 30 days were over, MGM claimed that the period during which negotiations were suspended did not count and their exclusive period was still open. Halcyon asked a court for an injunction allowing them to approach other distributors. WB was able to obtain North American distribution rights, while Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute the film overseas. This makes Salvation the first film in the series to have the same distributors as the previous film.
McG signed on to direct as the first two films were among his favorites, and he had even cast Robert Patrick (who played the T-1000) in his films. Though he was initially unsure about "flogging a dead horse," he felt the post-apocalyptic setting allowed the film to be different enough so to not be an inferior sequel. The idea that events in Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3 altered the future also allowed them to be flexible with their presentation of the futuristic world. McG met with the series' co-creator James Cameron, and, although he neither blessed nor cursed the project, Cameron told the new director he had faced a similar challenge when following Ridley Scott's Alien with Aliens. McG described the film's theme as "where you draw the line between machines and humans".
In the early script drafts, Connor was a secondary character. Producer James Middleton explained "Ben-Hur was influenced by Jesus Christ, but it was his story. Much in that way, this [new main] character will be influenced by John Connor." In these early drafts, John is killed at the end. The human resistance decide John's image must be kept alive for the sake of morale, so Marcus has his flesh removed and replaced with John's. Marcus becomes leader of the resistance. McG was intrigued by the idea but nevertheless had it dropped.
Paul Haggis rewrote the script, and Shawn Ryan made another revision three weeks before filming. Jonathan Nolan also wrote on set, which led to McG characterizing his work on the script as the most important; he has additionally signed on for the next two films. So extensive were the rewrites that Alan Dean Foster decided to rewrite the entire novelization after submitting it to his publisher, because the compiled shooting script was very different from the one he was given beforehand.[50] Throughout writing, the cast and crew would watch scenes from the three films to pick moments to reference or tribute, including "I'll be back," which is uttered by Connor in this film. McG found himself having to decide which ideas for references would be included and which would not.[51] He and Nolan also planned out the story of the human resistance over two films, feeling Connor should initially "[deserve] all the credit, but gets none".
Cast
-Christian Bale as John Connor: The battle-experienced leader of the human resistance, who is now in his early thirties, is waging war against Skynet after it has destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust. Director McG deemed him "the most credible action star in the world" during development. Bale was the first person to be cast and signed on for the role in November 2007. McG talked extensively with Bale in England about the role, and they both agreed to move forward. Bale is a fan of the films and liked the script and has signed on to appear in two additional sequels. He was at first uninterested, until McG convinced him the story would be character-based and not rely on special effects. They kept working on the story every day. McG said Bale broke his hand punching a Terminator prop during filming.
-Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright: A human resistance soldier who is discovered to be a decommissioned Terminator. His last memory is of being on death row, and Connor is unsure of whether Wright is from the past or the future. Terminator creator James Cameron personally recommended Worthington (whom he directed in Avatar) to McG. Russell Crowe also recommended him to McG. McG decided Worthington looked tougher than the "great many of today's [waify] young male actors". Worthington recalled Cameron told him "the Terminator to make is the one with the war". Worthington tore his intercostal muscles during the first weeks of filming, but nevertheless insisted on performing his own stunts. McG once expressed interest in casting Daniel Day-Lewis or Josh Brolin in the part. Brolin did talk to Bale and read a draft of the screenplay, which he found "interesting and dark [but] ultimately though I didn't think it felt right".
-Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese: A teenaged soldier and admirer of John Connor. In The Terminator, to ensure the survival of the human race, he was sent back in time to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor, and he conceived John with her.
-Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor: John's wife, who is helping him build his resistance. Charlotte Gainsbourg was originally set to play the part, but left because of scheduling conflicts with another film. As portrayed by Claire Danes in the third film, Kate was a veterinarian, but in this film she has become a physician. Howard suggested, as part of her character's backstory, that Kate studied many medical books and interviewed many surviving doctors during the interval bridging the timelines of the two films. The film's subject matter reminded Bryce of developing countries, devastated by war and lack basic supplies such as clean water, which "reflect[s] things that are going on currently in this privileged world that we're living in where there hasn't been an apocalypse and robots haven't taken over the world. I think that's something definitely for us to reinvestigate and that we continue to make choices for our own future to take that into consideration."
-Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams]: A "no-nonsense and battle-hardened" pilot in the resistance suffering from survivor guilt. She and Marcus will apparently be romantic interests.
-Common as Barnes: A freedom fighter and John's right-hand man.
-Roland Kickinger as the prototype T-800: This will be the first Terminator film in which Arnold Schwarzenegger does not play the Model 101 Terminator, because he is serving as Governor of California. The Austrian-born Kickinger previously portrayed Schwarzenegger in a 2005 biographical film on the A&E Network. When asked about his role, Kickinger said it's "Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about." He also revealed that there is a "very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy." Polish strongman athlete Mariusz Pudzianowski was also considered for the role. Schwarzenegger visited the set, leading to rumors he was providing his voice and got scanned for a digital double, which would be mapped onto Kickinger's physique. He had granted the Halcyon Company permission to use his likeness in the film. McG would only admit "We're trying to synthesize a human character with a CGI character and that may or may not have something to do with the T-800."
-Helena Bonham Carter as Serena Kogen: The lead villain. Tilda Swinton was considered for the part, but Carter replaced her just before filming. Carter accepted as her partner, Tim Burton, is a Terminator fan. Her role was a "small but pivotal" one and would only require ten days of shooting.[27] On August 22, 2008, Carter delayed filming by a day, and was given an indefinite leave due to the death of four of her family members in a minibus accident in South Africa.
Additional cast members include Brian Steele as a T-600, Jadagrace as Star, Chris Ashworth as Richter, Chris Browning as Morrison, Michael Ironside as General Ashdown, and Jane Alexander.

Αντε, ας βγάλουν τώρα και remake του Freddy Gruger, και να μην ξεχάσουν οι απόγονοι των σημερινών δημιουργών να φτιάξουν σε 30 χρόνια remake των σημερινών Spider-Man, Batman, Daredevil, Superman, Iron-man, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic-Four, X-Men για να ικανοποιήσουν την ακόρεστη πείνα του αδηφάγου κοινού(δεν λέω, ωραία τα ντορίτος με λιωμένο τυρί αλλά...)!

There is a man with no face and a name I don’t remember always in the house in the middle of the woods and he said once “Son, don’t you laugh out loud for they are listening, oh, they are listening. Oh you’ve got to be strong, Oh, you’ve got to keep holding on. It’s now just a matter of time”
They provide the paint for the picture perfect masterpiece that you will paint on the insides of your eyelids; can you possibly see anything you want to see? No (Hell No!) “There’s nothing wrong with the way I see” and he wanted to be a soldier in the next great war he wanted to kill and fight and maim but not be told what he was fighting for. And that’s the way it’s gonna have to be my friend, and that’s the way it’s gonna have to be my friend.
I passed a man on the corner in the city yesterday singing, “Yada yada yada and tomorrow it’ll end.” I never thought I’d live to see another sunny day but I’m here and I fear I'll be here until the end.
So watch your mouth, or you’re gonna make a grave mistake. Hold your tongue, or you’re gonna catch a bullet in the head. Watch your mouth, or you’re gonna make a grave mistake. Don’t die for anything less than the best of life.
The things he said went to your head, you never tried to understand: "What they take you will never take back, 'cause they take what they take when they can cause they can from you. You follow me and you follow me but you never ask why and I wonder what you’re under could this be another piece of the, “I don’t care I just do what they say because they say what to do in a matter-of-fact way.” Don’t stop because you might get burned and you might just learn to stand on your own two feet and I think that it’s neat how you learn to repeat everything that you hear in the street so well. [Learn to repeat everything that you hear so well 2x]
And everyone was resting because they thought it was the end and even if it wasn’t they decided they’d pretend and somewhere in the distance I could hear him whispering “You can fight all you want they will win in the end.”
Sometimes in the evening when I’m lying in my bed, I am taken to the forest to the isolated shed, and I wake with his words resonating in my head and I can’t stop thinking about the gist of what he said.
So watch your mouth, or you’re gonna make a grave mistake. Hold your tongue or you’re gonna catch a bullet in the head. Watch your mouth or you’re gonna make a grave mistake. Don’t die for anything less than the best of, everyone settles for the rest not the best of, I will die for no less than the best of life.
