feng-huang
Το αντίστοιχο phoenix της Κίνας έχει τρία πόδια και ζει στον ήλιο. Το feng είναι το αρσεινικό και το huang το θηλυκό, μαζί συμβολίζουν την αιώνια αγάπη. Έχει το κεφάλι και την κόμη του φασιανού και τα φτερά του παγωνιού. Το φτέρωμά του αναμιγνύει τα πέντε χρώματα και το τραγούδι αυτού του πουλιού είναι η αρμονία των πέντε τόνων.
Κάποιες φορές έχει συσχετιστεί με το *roc.

Αυτό το πουλί είναι ο Ιαπωνέζικος phoenix, το πουλί ho είναι το αρσενικό και το οο είναι το θηλυκό. Έρχεται στην γη για να κάνει καλές πράξεις και η εμφάνισή του συμβολίζει το ξεκίνημα μιας νέας εποχής. Το πουλί μετά επιστρέφει στον ουρανό και περιμένει για την νέα εποχή. Μοιάζει αρκετά με το Feng-Huang.
Το πουλί Ho-Oo έχει υιοθετηθεί ως σύμβολο της βασιλικής οικογένειας ιδιαίτερα της αυτοκράτειρας. Πιθανολογείται πως απεικονίζει τον ήλιο, την δικαιοσύνη, την πίστη και την υποταγή.

Αυτό το πουλί είναι ένα ακόμα πουλί που συνδέεται με τον phoenix.
Αυτό το Αιγυπτιακό ηλιακό πουλί ταυτίστηκε με τον Θεό Ρα τον ηλιακό θεό. Το όνομα Benu είναι αιγυπτιακό και σημαίνει, πορφυρός ερωδιός και το δέντρο φοίνικας. Όπως ακριβώς ο phoenix, αυτό το πουλί ταυτίστηκε με τον ναό των ηλιακών θεών της Ηλιούπολης. Πολλοί πιστεύουν ότι οι μύθοι γύρω από τον phoenix ήταν μία παρεξήγηση των αιγυπτιακών μύθων που έχουν να κάνουν με τον Benu
Αυτό το πουλί επίσης είναι γνωστό ως σύμβολο της ενσάρκωσης του θεού Oσιρις, που επαναλαμβάνεται Οι ομοιότητες με τον phoenix είναι πολυάριθμες.

Salamander
Salamander represented as amphibian
the most bizarre nature of all the dragons. Though usually diminutive in size, some salamanders have been reported to grow to an incredible 2.4 m (8 ft) in length, though this is exceedingly rare. Salamanders are very strong and untouchable by fire, and can usually be found lairing at the foot of volcanoes or seeking out the forges of blacksmiths. Because they extinguish fires, blacksmiths hunt these creatures when sighted around their forge to ensure the protection of their work. The salamander itself is spotted and frequently portrayed in art with a line of stars down its back, and very cold- it is believed they seek out the heat to ease this perpetual freeze.

Found in the rainforested areas of South America, Indonesia and Africa, fairy dragons range from the diminutive size of a mouse through to 30 cm (1 foot) in length. There are many variants within this taxa, and these are determined upon size and diet.
Fairy dragons have one or two pairs of wings, a body similar to that of a minature Western dragon save for their rather unique insect traits, such as a long snout and large, irridescent eyes. While fairy dragons are usually patterned to blend with their surroundings, their hides shine a rainbow of colours should the sun catch them at the right angle. Because of this, fairy dragons have often been mistaken for large insects or butterflies.
